Marek Lahoda (CZ)Global Change Research Institute, Czech Academy of Sciences
Marek is a PhD. student of physical geography at Masaryk University’s Faculty of Science, that participated in Czech yearly polar expedition to Antarctica this year. He works at the Global Change Research Institute of the Czech Academy of Sciences (CzechGlobe). After years of civic activism in the cycling advocacy group “Brno na kole” (Brno by bike) he has come to a conclusion that “as an activist elected by no one (and also paid by no one)” he would not be able to change much in his hometown. Therefore, he became a representative of the Czech Pirate Party in the Královo Pole district and the vice-chair of the Transport Committee of the Board of Brno. Currently he is trying to find out if he can change something already.
