Ladislav Šimko serves as the Plenipotentiary of the Government of the Slovak Republic for the National and Regional Partnership Plan, while simultaneously holding the position of Director General of the Section for Strategic Planning and Coordination of EU Funds at the Ministry of Investments, Regional Development and Informatization of the Slovak Republic. In this position, he coordinates strategic processes related to the preparation of the upcoming 2028–2034 programming period.

As part of his agenda, he promotes substantive cooperation between public administration authorities, expert partners, and other relevant stakeholders to ensure the effective establishment of priorities, measures, and implementation mechanisms. He places particular emphasis on a systemic approach, professional dialogue, and the development of solutions that contribute to the efficient utilization of resources and the fulfillment of the development needs of the Slovak Republic.
