Wout Ritzema is a self employed senior developer and consultant in station development and bike parking at stations, with a background in urban planning and safe design. He has been working in this field for more than 20 years, for both city councils and the Ministry of Infrastructure, as well as the Dutch Railways (NS) and ProRail. He has been involved in the development and quality improvements of many stations and bike parkings in the Netherlands, from small open air bike parkings in Amsterdam, to medium sized indoor bike parkings in Almere, to large underground bike parkings in for instance the cities of Amsterdam, Zwolle, Eindhoven and Leiden. Wout is co-author of the book ‘Bike parking at train stations; 20 years of design, development and realisation’ (2021) and was keynote speaker at conferences in France, Germany and Switzerland.
