Petra Marko is an architect working between client-side enabling, placemaking and design advocacy with 15 years’ experience in London. In her roles as Director of Solidspace and Co-founder of Marko&Placemakers, Petra has a growing profile as a younger generation leader breaking industry silos. She sat on the inaugural National Infrastructure Commission Young Professionals Panel, the independent body tasked with advising government on the UK’s long-term infrastructure, and is member of the award winning VeloCity Placemaking team developing a strategic vision that solves some of the most critical issues facing rural areas today. As an advocate for car-free walkable neighbourhoods and inclusive public spaces, Petra is a regular speaker at forums concerned with livable cities and writes for various architecture journals. Petra is a member of the founding faculty of The London School of Architecture, where she led research think tanks exploring innovative housing models and radical transformation of London into a walking and cycling city.
